Learning that doesn’t look like school

Part of the magic of the way ArtLoveMagic structures their shows is that they are designed to inspire artists.  This is especially effective with young artists.

I was able to bring two of my artist nieces to the Underground show this past weekend.  While I knew they would love it, what I didn’t think about was the power of having the artists there creating live so that they were able to observe different techniques and ask questions.

Not only that, but the collaborative art piece also gave them the opportunity to contribute to the event with their own artistic energies.

Education is a main goal for ArtLoveMagic and I guess I always thought of that in terms of the mentoring that the organization facilitates or the workshops that are specifically geared to connect learners with teachers.

I never saw the power of the interactions until last week.

Just one more piece of the magic.

  1. Yes.. and as more and more pressure is put on our educational systems with high stakes testing, having other outlets for children to be nurtured up into to the arts is sooo important!
